CYOP #4 - Creating in Nature + Inspiring Others with Colin Delehanty and Sheldon Neill of Project Yosemite

As some of you may know, I've had a long-standing obsession with time-lapse video. It's just so captivating and, in my mind, one project in particular has always shined a little brighter than the rest:

I've been following the work of Project Yosemite creators Colin Delehanty and Sheldon Neill ever since they released Yosemite HD back in 2012 and when Yosemite HD II was released about a month ago, I knew I had to reach out and ask for an interview. Colin and Sheldon were kind enough to call in to the show despite their hectic schedules (and having to record at separate times in separate cities!) and I'm thrilled to be able to share their creative journeys with you all!

Creating Your Own Path // A Podcast -

In this episode, I chat with Project Yosemite creators Colin Delehanty and Sheldon Neill.

Listen in as the creators of the hugely popular time-lapse project—who kindly called in to the show from the Bay Area and Southern California, respectively—discuss their career paths, how Project Yosemite came about, their love for the national parks, what might be next for their creative journeys and more.

Special thanks to ThinkHouse Collective in Midtown Sacramento for the use of their recording space.

I hope you've enjoyed listening to the episode as much I enjoyed creating it, my friends. Please be sure to head over to iTunes to subscribe, rate and review Creating Your Own Path, if you have a moment. I really do appreciate your feedback and support!

California, I Love You

My love for this great state shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Though I often think about what it would be like to call someplace else home, I would sure have trouble leaving California's beauty behind.Today I'm offering up a simple photo essay of some of my favorite places. If you're planning a trip here anytime soon, may I suggest beginning your adventure in Northern California?

She's a stunner:

{Alcatraz from the Presidio in San Francisco.}

{Upper Sacramento River}

{Taft Point in Yosemite National Park}

{Blue Ridge Loop, overlooking Lake Berryessa}

{View of Rodeo Beach & Lagoon, Marin Headlands}

{Castle Crags State Park near Dunsmuir, California}

{Sunrise over the American River in Sacramento}

{Views of the Napa Valley}

{Pigeon Point Lighthouse near Pescadero}

{Tenaya Lake in Yosemite National Park}

{Pebble Beach in Crescent City}

See what I mean? B-E-A-utiful.

If you’re planning to spend time in Northern California this summer, be sure to check out a mobile collection of my favorite outdoor spots here.

Now tell me: which places and spaces make you love California? Any spots on the "must see" list for Southern California? I'm always looking for recommendations!

Yosemite + Muir + Happy Links

Well, hello there! Things have been a bit quiet around here this week thanks to a whole host of offline business, but I wanted to be sure to introduce a new and improved version of the "A Snap + A Quote" series.I'm always stumbling across people, places and things that make me smile, so I'm adding them to the mix! Ready? Here it goes:

"The mountains are calling and I must go." - John Muir

Happy Links:

  • This great post from the No More Dirty Looks gals soliciting a clean cosmetics resource list from everyone on the internet.
  • C'est Christine's lovely postcard post from the Brooklyn Bridge, which is satisfying my inner bridge nerd.
  • A wonderful collection of bear photos over on My Modern Met (and pretty much every collection of photos on My Modern Met).
  • Bloglovin' as my new blog reader. So much better than what I was using before.
  • This incredible cabin renovation over on Smitten Studio, which is really making me want a fixer cabin. Stat!

Happy Friday, all. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
