When you're busy creating, making, working, sharing, meeting, connecting and every other thing under the sun, it can be tough to remember the importance of stepping away to recharge.

This weekend my husband and I celebrated 11 years of knowing one another (a brief history of how that came about here) with high fives, a ton of laughter and time spent wandering around Muir Woods.

It was lovely.

Since Muir Woods is just shy of a two-hour drive, we were able to get in a few solid hours of hiking in before we needed to head back home. If you're thinking of heading to Muir Woods, my best advice is to get there early. We got there around 10 a.m. to beat the crowds mentioned here and it was worth the early start time—the parking lots were jam-packed by the time we wrapped up our trek.

The little day trip was just what I needed to recharge my batteries and get ready for another busy week. Nothing quite beats getting out in nature and stepping away from the rest of the world for a bit, don't you think?

Tell me: How do you all recharge or shake off the day-to-day grind?
