Fun. Glorious Fun.

Earlier this month, I spent a few wonderful days in San Francisco with friends I've known since junior high and high school. Glorious doesn't begin to describe the weather and fun can't possibly sum up the good times spent with old friends.Yet, glorious fun is precisely what we had.

In no particular order we: played tourist at Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, watched crazy people drive down Lombard Street, had drinks at Top of the Mark...and at the Tonga Room and Tempest, cured the resulting hangover with a trip Mel's, lunched at the de Young Museum, marveled at the beauty of the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, took a lovely drive through the Presidio, found a shop I had heard about in the  Mission District, went to a kick assGrace Potter and the Nocturnals {with Rayland Baxter} show at the Fox Theater in Oakland, enjoyed one of the best brunches I've ever had at Baker Street Bistro, stuck our toes in the sand and the sea at Baker Beach and made a quick stop at Ocean Beach and the Sutro Baths for good measure.

I know. It seems like a lot, but I was amazed by how perfectly it fit into 48-ish hours. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. And that, my friends, is what a gloriously fun weekend in the Bay Area looks like. {sigh}

I've seen several wonderful posts about San Francisco floating around the blogosphere recently. It's always fun to see how various people view a city. If you're up for it, you can keep this Bay Area party going by stopping in here and here.

Happy Wednesday, all!
